Are you planning to hold a cooperation event with us?
From film screenings to poetry slams to concert evenings, we have a wide range of experience in the field of event organization.
Here are a few tips on the typical process:
--> Ideally, you should contact us one semester in advance with your cooperation idea. The final deadline for the following winter semester is June 30th, the deadline for the following summer semester is December 31st. <--
If you have difficulties, such as finding a suitable film, we are happy to help you. We will take care of the research and booking of the screening rights with the film distributors for you and offer to procure the screening medium. Last but not least, we also distribute the event information via our advertising channels.
On the film evening itself, the stage is free for you to give an introductory talk or have a lively film discussion with the audience. We will of course provide you with the technology for this. If you need additional technology, e.g. extra stage lighting, there is an additional technology fee of €50.
In addition to the good projection, we also offer delicious drinks and snacks through our catering sales.
What costs can you expect?
The price of renting a film depends on various factors:
- Which distributor holds the rights?
- How old is the film?
- How many viewers are expected?
- Should the event take place without admission?
- How should the film be shown: digital or analogue (16 or 35mm)?
In our experience, you can expect a film price of around €100-150. But don't worry: we research the exact costs in advance and can pay in advance for you.
We usually offer cooperation for one event. However, if you have ideas for several evenings, such as film series or a larger topic complex, up to three dates are possible. However, these dates should be at least 1 month apart.
We typically do not charge admission to collaborative events, as this allows us to reach a wider audience. If this is desired, however, this will be discussed on a case-by-case basis.
As we have ongoing costs for advertising, technical maintenance and GEMA fees in addition to the work involved in researching rights, communicating with rental companies and ensuring the screening runs smoothly, we also charge a so-called screening fee.
This is €50 for institutions close to the university, such as recognized university groups, student councils or chairs at the TU Dresden.
For institutions outside the university and private individuals, this is €100.
If you would like to hold an event without our support, please contact the TU Dresden room allocation office directly.
